I read in the book of life
of One who lived to see others smile

a simple man of innocence
he shared his with others
bringing joy to the little hearts
and calmness in the elders’ mind
…so he lived they say, like santa claus

joy, smile, bliss and laughter
…and they named him the ‘Laughing Buddha’
and he lived and lived and continued living in the mind of man

…last night he came in my dream
but strangely the laughter was missing
i saw only his head stuck to a broken branch

“see”, he said “how can I smile now?
mothers without milk in their bosom
are bearing deceased children,
no! they are not deformed but their minds are distorted”

“…animals are tested and caged in the name of beauty
yes brother, they torture them to test their beauty masks

“…man is now gradually becoming a beast of greed
and is building tombs in the name of progress”

“see the elephant that has buried its head”

“it is a symbol of knowledge and wisdom buried
…by fools who hide behind pity and false”

“tell me brother, can you make out the buzz of a bee?
…well that is what they are believing and listening to
…thinking that it is prophetic and wise”

“so tell me now brother…do you want me to still give a smile?
…and pretend as though all is well?”

….well maybe the hope lies in the bowling ball that is within the blue bulb!
